Phillies WIN opener in Piching Duel
Sam Crawford of the Phillies and Ethan Ohare of the Mets each recorded 10 strikeouts tonite at Grace Ryder Field.
The difference tonite was not only the pitching but the bat of Crawford, who in addition to his 10 K's had 2 hits and 3 RBI's.
With the ting run on the dougout steps ready to go to the on deck circle, 2nd baseman Sean Amidon made a great catch to end the game.
Both clubs played a fantastic game.
Royals Vs Dodgers Game 1
A beautiful May evening was the perfect backdrop for the Royals to kick off the 2008 Minor league season. After spotting the Dodgers an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning the Royals roared back in the second to take a 5-3 lead. Led by some great pitching from Kal, Pat Collins, and Justin the Royals where able to hold down the Dodgers for a hard played 11-4 victory. A strong team effort on both offense and defense by the entire team shows promise for the remainder of the season. Parents, coaches and players alike should all be very proud of the effort of both teams displayed tonight.
Parents....lets remember this is little league baseball...none of our boys are getting drafted anytime soon.....lets have fun and learn the game of baseball and sportsmanship
Just wondering what happened to the selection of the 9 and 10 year old Suburban Rosters. Have they been released yet??
